Heartfelt condolences to Marcus Valdes and family for the loss of Avril Valdes
I was sorry to hear the sad news. Avail was a nice lady that very much loved her children and grandchildren. She was a " people person ". I considered her as a friend. May she rest in peace.
Very sorry for your loss, may she rest in peace.
Avril, May the choir of angels greet you and usher you to the merciful heart of God!

My family and I extend our deep sympathies to Marcus and Marius’ families on the death of their mother Avril. I remember her as a no nonsense mother who did her best to keep her charges in line. She did that well, as evidenced by the men they became. We hold her in the light and keep her in our prayers.
We are saddened by her departure. But at the same time happy to have known her and shared many gracious and happy moments with her. We know she now rests in peace in the house of the Lord.
May God rest her sole, and my condolences to the Valdes family. I have many entertaining memories of Avril trying to wrangle a bunch of boys (her own and neighbors like me) being boys. Like getting a call from Mrs. Gregory next door that we were burning things in the backyard to trying to get Marius to wear a coat, they're all great memories. God bless her and all the parents who watched over us.
To all of Avril’s family I wish you peace and comfort as she wings her way heavenward to a glory so well deserved...... it is us who are left behind who are feeling sad and lonely. The thought that I will never again hear her voice or that special tinkling melody of her laugh, or even yet another of those extremely long and involved text messages, or sit down in her gracious apartment for a quick cuppa and a short chat or those times we had no time restraints and could talk at will.....her thoughts were always full of her family and their accomplishments. She so enjoyed all those visits from Sterling and Emily and later from Hannah also. We enjoyed going to the Carolina Cock Hockey team to watch Sterling turn into a beast of a player on the ice and watching Marius’ daughter practice and master the fundamentals of soccer. She was proud of Marius and would grin when I showed her the latest posts on his art website- she never could access it on her own just as technical challenged as my own mother. I will miss her stories of England and Montreal, her hockey memories but most especially her stories of her time spent at the Navy Clinic. Avril was one of those rare people who entered into something and left it ten times better because she was there. Because of her sunny personality she had many aquaintances but if she counted you as a friend you were in for life. Let’s not think of her as gone, but gone ahead to smooth our own pathway to meet her.....,,,she is a piece of my heart I will always treasure as a part of the garden of my life.....our own special English rose.
I will miss Mrs. Valdes. I remember visiting her once a month for a while when she lived in the five-points area of Columbia, SC. She would tell me stories of her experience in the navy, her travels, and would show me hundreds of pictures from thick albums highlighting all aspects of the family.
To my dearest friend, the memories we made together will always be deep within my heart, I will miss you, fly high my friend, God bless you and all those you left behind. Until we meet again. Sincere condolences from the Lesh family.
Condolences from the Smith family to the Valdes family. Prayers offered for you all.
